How to limit the number of FTP connections?

When uploading a large number of files, we recommend you limit the number of FTP connections. Here are instructions to limit FTP connections in FileZilla:

  • Add the FTP details in FileZilla > File > Site Manager

  • Go to File > Site Manager > Select the FTP server

  • Go to Transfer Settings

  • Checkmark [*] Limit Number of simultaneous connections

  • Enter 4 in Maximum number of connections

  • Click OK to save the settings.

  • Close and relaunch File Zilla

  • Done!

More connections do not necessarily make the upload faster, but they can get your IP blocked by the server firewall due to an excessive number of FTP connections.
