There are a few things you should do to prepare your domain before starting the transfer. Please follow the walkthrough below to prepare and transfer your domain.
Step 01: Prepare Your Domain
- Unlock your domain.
- Get the authorization/auth/EPP/transfer code from your old registrar. You need to unlock the domain to get the code.
- We recommend initiating the transfer at least 15 days before the domain's expiry date. The transfer may still go through even if it expires during the process, but this is not guaranteed.
- Your domain cannot be transferred if you registered or transferred it less than 60 days ago.
- Your domain cannot be transferred if you have modified the registrant name, organization, or email address within the last 60 days.
- You will receive an email at the registrant email address to confirm the transfer. Make sure the WHOIS information of your domain is correct.
If you are using the WHOIS privacy service, make sure you will receive the transfer confirmation email to your email address. Otherwise, you will need to disable WHOIS privacy before initiating the transfer.
Step 02: Start Your Transfer
- Go to Client Area > Store > Transfer Domains to Us to order the domain transfer.
- Authorize the transfer. You will receive an email to the registrant email address to authorize the transfer. Do not cancel the transfer.
- Leave the domain unlocked during the transfer process.
- You will receive an email after the transfer is complete.
- Lock your domain again after the transfer is complete.
60 Day Transfer Lock
