How to set the default nameservers in DirectAdmin?

DirectAdmin allows you to set default nameservers for new users. These new default nameservers will only be assigned to new user accounts created after the change.

 

Applies to:

Managed VPS and Managed Dedicated Server with DirectAdmin control panel.


Set Default Nameservers


  1. Go to DirectAdmin > Admin > Server Manager > Nameservers > Create Nameservers.

  2. Select your domain in the "Domain" field.

    *If you want to use ns1 and ns2.yourdomain.com as nameservers, select yourdomain.com.
    *Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.


  3. Enter the desired nameservers in the following fields:

    Name Server 1: ns1
    Name Server 2: ns2

    *Make sure you have the correct A records already configured.


  4. Click "Create Nameservers".


  5. Now, enter the new default nameservers in the "Set the Name servers that will be assigned to new users" section:

    Name Server 1: ns1.yourdomain.com
    Name Server 2: ns2.yourdomain.com

    *Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.


  6. Click "Save".

  7. Done!
