How to restore or download backups using JetBackup?

Restoring a backup using JetBackup is relatively easy. You can browse all available backup points, select a backup, and restore with a mouse click.

JetBackup is included for free with Web Hosting, Semi Dedicated, and Reseller Hosting. It can create hourly and daily incremental backups.

Restore Full Account

You can restore the entire hosting account to restore all websites, databases, emails, and files:

  • Go to cPanel > JetBackup 5 > Full Backups.

  • Select a backup by clicking on a backup date.

  • Click Restore > Restore Selected Items.

You will be redirected to "Queue".

  • Wait for the restoration to finish.

Once restored, it will display "Completed" under the Status column.

  • Done!

We can also restore it for you if you let us know the date/time of the backup.

Restore Directories and Files

To restore one or more files and directories:

  • Go to cPanel > JetBackup 5 > Home Directory.

  • Select a backup date.

  • Click "Change Files Selection".

  • Click "public_html" (or the directory for your website).

  • Select the directories and/or files you want to restore.

  • Click Select Files > Restore > Restore Selected Items.

You will be redirected to "Queue".

  • Wait for the restoration to finish.

Once restored, it will display "Completed" under the Status column.

  • Done!

Restore Databases

To restore one or more databases:

  • Go to cPanel > JetBackup 5 > Databases.

  • Select the database you want to restore.

  • Click "Choose Other Backup" to select a different backup.

  • Click Restore > Restore Selected Items.

You will be redirected to "Queue".

  • Wait for the restoration to finish.

Once restored, it will display "Completed" under the Status column.

  • Done!

You can use the same methods to restore database users, emails, and cron jobs.

Download Backups

To download a full backup or specific items (databases, emails, files, database users, cron jobs, etc.):

  • Go to cPanel > JetBackup 5 > Full Backups.

  • Select a backup date.

  • Click "Download".

  • Uncheck the items you do not want to download. For example:

To download a full backup, select all items (all items remain selected by default).

To download only databases, select "Databases" and deselect all other items.
To download any other items, select only that item and deselect all others.

  • Click "Download Selected Items".

You will be redirected to "Queue".

  • Wait for the download to finish.

Once downloaded, it will display "Completed" under the Status column.

  • Click "Downloads" in the left sidebar.

  • Click "Download" next to the backup you want to download.

    Save it on your device.

  • Done!
